Computer-Aided Design-

Tasks for the week:

-Model (raster, vector, 2D, 3D, render, animate, simulate, ...) a possible final project, and post it on your class page.

Learn 2D software and evaluate them

1. RASTER - Photoshop coraldrow and GIMP

2. VECTOR - CorelDraw

Learn 3D software - Google sktechup, solid works, fusion 360

we have to fix up software from 2D and 3D which we will using throughout the academy. For this purpose we have to try at least 2-3 software and then finalize any one.

This week we learned a lot about 2D and 3D tools.

2D designing Software

2D is two-dimensional design or flat drawing. Line, shape, texture, color, etc. are the elements of the 2D design or art. There are two types of 2D designing software such as Raster designing and vector designing.

Photo shop-

Photoshop is a graphics-editing program that is used to create and manipulate images. The program's versatile nature makes it useful for a huge range of imaging tasks, and Photoshop is used in fields as diverse as architecture, astronomy, animation, forensics, web design and medicine.

Adobe Photoshop is the predominant photo editing and manipulation software on the market. Its uses range from full featured editing of large batches of photos to creating intricate digital paintings and drawings that mimic those done by hand.

Before we dive into the specifics of Photoshop let's answer the question “What is Photoshop" as answered by a Adobe Education Trainer.

I have done this before in the photo shop. These are very good software can do a lot of things like 2 D Design, photo and many other things. I love it. I liked the photo shop software.

I am using Photoshop to edit all my photos and screenshots taken while assignment.

Corel draw-

Corel draw-

Since I like photoshop for 2 D design but I tried on coral draw as well.

Corel Corporation developed and released a software program called CorelDRAW, a vector graphics editor. The software is a robust graphics suite, providing many features for users to edit graphics. These features include contrast adjustment, color balancing, adding special effects like borders to images, and it is capable of working with multiple layers and multiple pages.

MY EXPERIENCE IN GIMP

GIMP is easy to learn. GIMP for those who just want to improve the quality of their photos without spending any money on software. Its installer size is smaller than photoshop. Photoshop is proprietary and cost a lot money to purchase. It is great software but expensive.

[Solid Work]-

SolidWorks is 3D solid modeling cad software which has very simple user interface (UI) with well-placed tools positions and wide graphics area for designing purposes. The UI is very user-friendly and pleasing to eye with light gory background. It provides complete customization for the SolidWorks UI, that means you can arrange the tools, command bar, space of graphics UI etc. as your needs. It is featured in speedy access of each tool through tool bar or just searches the first or two letters of tool commands in the command search bar. It helps to reduce the strain of your eye while designing and also increasing the productivity.

I have never used solid work before. This was my first time I used solid works software

Menu bar-

Menu bar is top most of the application,Executing New file, Open file, save file, Save, Print, Undo, Select, Rebuild, File Properties and option.

Status bar-

Status bar- it gives information about a part, drawing and assembly.

Graphic Area-

Graphic area- It work place about a part, drowning and assembly.

Creating simple sketch in solid works-

I made a model this bracket with two lines with Solid Work, use extrude thin features. first I made "L"shape and directly extrude the sketch, look at thin feature and set thickness. This feature is simple and quick, it saves my time without sketching offset and dimension the sketch.
